The Sapphire is a distance driver created as a part of Latitude 64's Easy-to-Use Line. It's light, it's fast, yet still easy to grip and control. With this disc players can add extra speed and stability to their arsenal. It has a slim profile for smooth releases, and it is easy to get a good grip, especially for players with smaller hands.
As far as we know, this was not named because of its affinity to be thrown by hillbillies. Our guess is it's name derives from the fact that it's a great plastic to use for night rounds. For a few select disc models in the Opto Line plastic, Latitude 64 has added a translucent material for an awesome glow-in-the-dark effect.
Latitude 64 is a popular Swedish manufacturer from the small mountain of Skelleftea near the Arctic Circle and they get their name from the proximity to it. (The Arctic Circle is at 66 degrees latitude and Skelleftea is at 64 degrees latitude.)
They offer a full line of discs that appeal to both the newbiest of new players and the most ardent professionals.
