The Octane is a high speed stable distance driver in the 23mm driver lineup from MVP. It falls in the general stability lineage of Switch, Amp, Inertia, and Wave, with a slow-turning profile that holds long and straight until its fade finish. This disc was designed to be relatively less understable than its 21.5mm counterpart Wave. Average throwers should see straight flights with a bit of shallow turn, while power throwers will be able to hyzerflip for max distance and tailwind lines.
MVP's premium look and durability material is Proton. Available in transparent candy colors, Proton discs will bring the fun for years to come in the roughest conditions. Proton is also available in soft flexibility for putters.
OK, so it turns out that if you have a father with a plastic injection molding shop and have a passion for disc golf, chances are you're going to go into the disc manufacturing business. At least that's what happened with brothers Brad and Chad Anderson.
They were the first comapny to come up with the idea of "overmolding" when they introduced their first disc - the Ion - in 2009. They now have a full lineup of discs - 39 and counting - that implement the new molding process.
