As the hefty workhorse of the Gateway lineup the Spirit can fly an extremely long way staying low to the ground using the maker's proprietary Hyper-Lift Technology. The 12-speed driver is a high-speed overstable disc with a sharp nose radius combined with a long linear wing length, which makes it one of the fastest flying discs on the market. It will work hard to fight headwinds and is a must have for power throwers.
The Diamond blend is made from a high-grade TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). This blend creates one of the best durability and grip on the surface of any disc on the market. Runs are clear, translucent, or opaque and are more overstable than Suregrip or Platinum.
As their name implies Gateway is based in St. Louis and has been active in the disc golf community since 1994. When they're not busy help design disc golf courses (the current count is over 90!) they have created a special line of discs including their popular putter the Wizard.
They were the first to develop wide-winged drivers to battle wicked headwinds and currently have over 32 PDGA-approved models available in three plastic blends: Diamond, Platinum and Sure Grip. They've recently started working with hemp polymers which is sure to attract a, uh... um... new market of players.
