The Samurai is a super-fast long-range driver that's relatively easy to control. Its sleek, low profile and slight dome will produce extremely long flights while the bead on the wing adds to the control needed when thrown very hard.
This disc has just the right amount of stability to be very useful for new players and pros. It's also a good headwind disc for those with 300 ft. of distance and a long turnover driver for those with more power.
The Diamond blend is made from a high-grade TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). This blend creates one of the best durability and grip on the surface of any disc on the market. Runs are clear, translucent, or opaque and are more overstable than Suregrip or Platinum.
As their name implies Gateway is based in St. Louis and has been active in the disc golf community since 1994. When they're not busy help design disc golf courses (the current count is over 90!) they have created a special line of discs including their popular putter the Wizard.
They were the first to develop wide-winged drivers to battle wicked headwinds and currently have over 32 PDGA-approved models available in three plastic blends: Diamond, Platinum and Sure Grip. They've recently started working with hemp polymers which is sure to attract a, uh... um... new market of players.
