The Bear is the new fairway driver from Westside. It has a slightly stable flight similar to its little brother the Stag. It is controllable, predictable, and has a touch more fade and torque resistance than its little bro. The Bear is strong enough to handle any arm speed.
As far as we know, this was not named because of its affinity to be thrown by hillbillies. Our guess is it's name derives from the fact that it's a great plastic to use for night rounds. For a few select disc models in the Opto Line plastic, Westside has added a translucent material for an awesome glow-in-the-dark effect.
Originating out of Finland, Westside is now owned by House of Discs along with their Trilogy partners. But they still continue to pump out a full lineup of discs.
While they are mainly known for their quality high speed drivers they still have discs suitable for, well, players like us including the popular Harp putt & approach disc.
